· A lot of advice around diet and nutrition can sometimes feel quite scary and unrealistic. Recognise your own habits and what might work for you. Small changes generally work better, so decide what positive food change you will try and make over whatever time frame works for you and go from there.
· Write your goal down, spend a bit of time thinking about practical ways you can help yourself to achieve this, and identify any barriers you might come up against and how you could overcome this.
· Write down some positive affirmations and repeat these to yourself. Believe in yourself and be proud of what you are doing.
· If you are trying to cut down sugary foods, remember that your taste buds will take a little time to catch up. If a blander food doesn’t taste so good then remember the taste will improve over the coming days and weeks as your taste buds readjust and recognise more subtle notes.
